Lying Eyes
Someday I'll have courage,
to live how I please,
but now I'm too afraid,
to stand on my own two feet.
One day I'll be strong enough,
to stare into your eyes,
Until then I'll look away,
and consent to your lies.
Living this way doesn't make me happy,
but it's better than pain,
feeling dull keeps me safe,
with nothing to lose or gain.
